On Saturday, October 3, the Hard Rock Cafe in Florence, Italy hosted the second performance of Nigerian musician Charles Onyeabor’s show, The Charles Onyeabor Show.
A sold-out crowd attended performances by African and international musicians at the event, which returned to the venue following its first edition.
Along with other songs from his collection, Onyeabor played songs from his most recent album, Legacy Continua. Afrobeat, Afro-funk, and other musical influences were mixed together in his performance.
Danypreez, Emmiboy, Big Wailz, Lil Madd, Young Game, Italian-Nigerian musician Tommy Kuti, and rapper Vas Angelov were among the other performers at the event.
Adesope Olajide, often known as Shopsydoo, is an Afrobeats MC and media personality who hosted the event once before.
During the event, music was played by DJs Fizzy, Stephy, and Simpo.
Following the performance, Onyeabor stated that he found the second edition’s attendance to be noteworthy.
“Florence once again showed me amazing love.” It means a lot to me to come back for the second edition and see the venue completely booked out. I am grateful for that assistance.
“We wanted to create more than just a concert; we wanted people from different backgrounds to come together, enjoy good music, and experience African energy and culture.” It was lovely to see that occur once more.
According to him, the concert was a component of events related to his recently released album, Legacy Continua.
“Taking everything I have inherited, everything I have experienced, and everything I am building and moving it forward is exactly what Legacy Continua represents for me,” he stated.
William Onyeabor, a late Afro-funk artist from Nigeria, is the father of Onyeabor.
