Mohammed Bello, also known as Dandolo, is an interstate notorious kidnapper who has been apprehended by the Kwara State Police Command. On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, the suspect was apprehended in Kwara state’s Patigi Local Government Area.
In a statement issued on Thursday, December 12, command spokesperson Ejire-Adeyemi Toun stated that the arrest was made in response to actionable intelligence obtained from Egbe, Kogi State.
According to the statement, Bello was responsible for numerous kidnappings in Kwara and Kogi states, as well as along the Lagos-Ibadan motorway.
Under the supervision of Commissioner of Police CP Victor Olaiya, the Kwara State Police Command apprehended Mohammed Bello, also known as “DANDOLO,” a notorious suspected kidnapper. The statement stated that the suspect fled to Patigi, Kwara State, to avoid arrest, and that the arrest was made possible by actionable intelligence obtained from Egbe, Kogi State.
Mohammed Bello is believed to have been involved in several kidnapping attempts in Kogi State’s Egbe, Isanlu, and surrounding areas. “As soon as the Command received the information, a surveillance team was dispatched to follow the suspect around.
” A comprehensive search was conducted in a variety of locations, including Patigi hotels. “The suspect was eventually apprehended at an undisclosed location.”This operation was carried out in coordination with Lieutenant Isah’s Nigerian Army Forward Operation Base (FOB) in Egbe, Kogi State.
The statement also stated that the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department’s (SCID) Ilorin Anti-Kidnapping Unit for further investigation. To ensure that justice is served, the CP promised to conduct a thorough and covert investigation.
“The Command is still dedicated to making sure that everyone living in Kwara State and the surrounding area is safe and secure.” The Command also thanked the public and our security partners for their cooperation and prompt action on this matter.
Mohammed Bello has admitted to several kidnappings on the Lagos-Ibadan motorway and the Omu-Aran-Ilofa-Osi-Eruku-Egbe road in Kwara state. “To help combat crime in the state, we encourage citizens to continue providing timely information.”
