After police officers broke the rear glass of a transport company’s bus, they were forced to pay 350,000, resulting in a very dramatic standoff on the Lagos-Benin Motorway.

Witnesses claim that the incident happened when the officers broke the rear glass of the bus while brandishing a firearm.

Other drivers from the same transport company immediately responded to this action by blocking the motorway in protest. Until the officers paid for the damage, the drivers refused to clear the road.

They were successful because the police officers finally gave in and paid. Although the incident caused traffic jams on the heavily travelled highway, it also demonstrated an uncommon example of prompt accountability for alleged wrongdoing.
