Atiku and Ganduje attend the funeral of Ribadu’s mother-in-law
The Janaiza prayer took place at 1:30pm after Zuhur prayer at the Central Mosque in Abuja. The mother-in-law of Malam Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Advisor to the President, Umm Iya Abubakar (Baba), was buried on Tuesday.
Among the dignitaries who attended the memorial service were the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ark Ahmed Dangiwa, the newly appointed Director of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), his immediate past Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed, his immediate past Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar and the FCT Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibo, were also at the scene.
TORI previously reported that Ribadu’s mother-in-law passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Janaiza prayers were held at the Central Mosque, Abuja at 1:30pm after Zuhr prayer. She was later buried at Gudu Cemetery, Abuja.

On behalf of Senator (Prof) Iya Abubakar and his family, with full submission to the will of Almighty Allah and with a heavy heart, we announce that Hajiya Umm Iya Abubakar (Baba) passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, August 27, 2024. The Creator has returned.”
“May Allah SWT reward all her good deeds, forgive her sins, illuminate her grave and grant her the highest rank in Jannah Al-Firdaus. Aameen,” the family said in a statement.
