On Tuesday, former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami had a visit from Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential contender. The encounter took place at Malami’s home in Abuja just hours after he was released from the Department of State Services’ (DSS) custody.
The meeting may be related to Malami’s cases with DSS and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, even though specifics are still unknown. On Monday, Malami was reportedly freed on bond.
After being detained for several months, the former Minister of Justice was reunited with his family in the widely shared video footage.
