In a YouTube video, she said the accident happened while she was on her way home from a church service. Popular Nigerian comedian Gloria Oloruntobi, known as Maraj, said she got into a road accident with her family.
The sketchmaker, who has been inactive on social media since June 2024, revealed that an accident was what prompted her hiatus.
She said in a YouTube video that the accident happened on the day her whole family was returning home from a church service.
Maraj said the family car they were in “spun out a few times and then went into a ditch.” “Anyone who’s been in a car accident knows what it feels like to be between life and death,” she says.
“It’s like you just died.
“What was even scarier for me was the fact that everyone was in the car: my husband, me, and the kids.
“We were coming home from church. I was so scared, I thought I might die.
“If I died, all my efforts would have been for nothing.
“What’s the point of working so hard if I can’t rest?
“And it made me appreciate life more, and do what I want to do – rest.
“The accident was a shock. We were driving and a car hit us from the side and we turned around.
“It was a Nigerian movie, it was crazy. The car just drove around and the next thing I knew, I was in a ditch.
“I went to check on the kids and they were OK. They were all safe and no one was hurt.”
Malaji became Instagram famous in 2016. It happened after a friend created playback content and posted a video of her imitating the song.
The sketchmaker married a Ghanaian man in 2021 in private.
Maraj has two children, Jayden and Jordan, with her Ghanaian husband.
