Former African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, revealed that he was already running for president before Nigerians discovered Labor Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi.
He also explained why he could not form a coalition with Obi.
He said Obi is no different from other corrupt politicians, stressing that he was simply good at “packaging” things.
Sowore maintained that Obi was running for the presidency long before he became nationally famous.
In a recent episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, he said: “I was already running for president before you discovered Peter Obi. All this fuss about Peter Obi he just knows how to package things.” Anyone can do that.
“If I were to join Peter Obi (to form a coalition with him), it would go against what I have always stood for, which is that I will never support anyone who has held political office before the leadership of Nigeria which I do not consider fit for purpose.
“I would never have teamed up with Atiku for the same reasons. And the Peter Obi you are talking about was Atiku’s running mate when I was the presidential candidate in 2019. “So what are we talking about? To me there is no greater evil. If you’re evil, you’re evil.
If you’re good, you’re good.
I fundamentally despise not performing.”
