NDDC warns against fraudulent youth internship programme

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has warned the public against fraudulent practices by fraudsters claiming to be representatives of the NDDC Youth Internship Programme.

The commission also added that registration for the programme closed on August 31, 2024.
This was contained in a statement issued by the commission’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Seredy Thompson Wakama on Friday and made available to Newspaper Pledge.

The statement read in part: “We have received reports that several individuals have received unsolicited messages informing them that they have been selected for the NDDC Internship Programme, requesting them to provide personal details and pay an initiation fee.

“NDDC does not charge any fee or payment to place qualified youths in the internship programme. We would like to make it clear that the NDDC has nothing to do with this fraudulent selection process.

“Our official communications will always come from our verified websites and social media accounts. If you receive a message similar to the one above, we urge you to ignore the scam message and report it to the appropriate authorities. Your security and privacy are our number one priority.
