The Nigerian Navy’s Operation Delta Sanity has uncovered a hideout of crude oil thieves in Oboroba Local Government Area of ​​Bayelsa State.

In addition, an illegal refinery storing large quantities of illegally refined kerosene was discovered and destroyed in Foropa.

The statement read: “Operation Delta Sanity: On Tuesday, 5th November, 2024, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) SOROH discovered and neutralised a hideout harbouring crude oil thieves in Oboroba Local Government Area of ​​Bayelsa State.”

“In another development in the same day, NNS SOROH patrol teams discovered and destroyed an illegal refinery containing large quantities of illegally refined kerosene in Foropa area of ​​Bayelsa State.

“Furthermore, on Friday, November 8, 2024, NNS SOROH in collaboration with Forward Operating Base FORMOSO arrested two suspects in possession of two wooden boats loaded with bags of illegally refined AGO at Igbomotlu, Bayelsa State.

“Just recently, another wooden boat loaded with a large quantity of stolen crude oil was discovered and seized at River Tubu-Bolo, Bayelsa State.”
