Nigerian Army kills over 70 ISWAP militants in new airstrikes in Borno State

Recent airstrikes in Borno State by the Nigerian Air Force Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have killed around 70 Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters and commanders.

The strategic airstrikes targeted ISWAP camps south of Lake Chad. The attacks have caused heavy casualties among the militants. The targeted attack on November 6th focused on camps run by notorious ISWAP commander Usman, particularly hitting locations on Kwararam and Alainna Chiki islands near Jibiraram in Marte district.

Impeccable intelligence sources conveyed ground assessment reports that the attack was successful, confirming that over 70 ISWAP militants were neutralised in Camp Kwararam.

One of the sources, Zagazola Makama, noted that while the exact casualty figures in Alainna Chiki are unclear, several terrorists were also killed in the coordinated attack.

This airstrike is perhaps one of the most successful attacks by the air wing of Operation Hadin Kai.
Meanwhile, following the November 7 attack, reports have emerged that ISWAP has mobilised additional fighters from Sambisa sector, regrouping in Kusuma and Sigil areas of Gamboru Ngala district.

Both locations are within Usman Russia’s territory. The mobilized fighters reportedly include those from Sambisa Forest and the northern border region of Cameroon.

Newspaper Pledge Reported That The group’s intentions remain unclear.
