The golden statue was unveiled on Wednesday, November 6, at the entrance to Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi during a tour of the Western Region.
It is reported that chiefs, elders and residents of the Western Region surprised President Akufo-Addo by escorting him to the unveiling of his bronze statue at Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi.
The statue is intended to honour the government’s contribution to the development of the region.
The Regional Minister, Kwabena Darko-Mensah, who presided over the unveiling ceremony, lauded some of the major projects that have been initiated under the President’s administration, including the inauguration of the Oil Hub Project in Nzema West.
The statue was unveiled just months before Akufo-Addo is due to step down after two terms as president.
