The News was reported that Operation Hadin Kai’s air force OPHK has killed about 70 ISWAP fighters in an airstrike in the southern Lake Chad region.
Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency magazine specializing in the Lake Chad region, said the rockets were fired on November 5 and targeted a camp led by notorious ISWAP commander Usman Russia.
The Newspaper Pledge reported that the attack hit camps in Kwararam and Alainna Chiki near Jibiraram in Marte LGA of Borno state, adding that 79 people were killed in the Kwararam camp.
The exact death toll in Alainna Chiki remains unclear, but the report noted that several militants were also killed there.
“Meanwhile, following the November 7 attack, reports have emerged that ISWAP has mobilised additional fighters from Sambisa sector and reconcentrated them in Kusuma and Sigir districts in Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area,” it said.
Both locations are within Ousmane Russia’s territory. The mobilized fighters reportedly include troops from Sambisa Forest and the northern border region of Cameroon.
