Veteran actress Ngozi Nwosu has vowed to never give free services to her home state of Abia.
She cited the lack of support she got while she was going through her health troubles.
In a recent interview with Radio Nollywood, the 61-year-old actress narrated how the Abia State Government ignored her during her serious health crisis in 2012, which led her to this firm decision.
Nwosu, who had kidney disease, said she has since committed to seeking heavy compensation from the state for all future services.
“I personally said there is nothing the state would ask me to do for free.
“They would pay me a lot of money to be there. I am from Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State,” she explained.
Nwosu also revealed that she received significant support from the Lagos State government during her health troubles, thanks to a woman she described as her “favourite actress.”
“What helped me when I needed help was the fame I gained from the role I played in a soap opera at the time.
“The person who called the Lagos State government did so because I was their favourite actor. “Because she loves me, when she heard I was unwell she called the government to save my life,” she added.
The actress began her career in Yoruba films and gained widespread recognition for her role in Living in Bondage.
