A one-day-old baby has been found abandoned by yet to be identified individuals in the New Market area of Minna, the Niger State capital.
Residents told Daily Trust that the baby was discovered at about 1am on Monday, November 11, 2024, when they heard the baby crying behind one of the houses.
One resident, Mariam Abdullah, said a nurse had been assigned to check on the baby’s health before handing it over to the authorities for proper care.
“The baby was discovered at about 1am behind a house in the New Market area when residents heard him crying. A nurse was assigned to check on the baby’s health and confirmed that he is in good health,” she said.
That is why I want you to contact the relevant authorities and ensure custody of the baby,” she said.
