Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has appointed his daughter, Helen Eno-Obareki, as the Acting First Lady of the state following the death of his wife.
Eno disclosed this during a condolence message from Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu in Uyo.
The governor said his daughter would work closely with the state’s deputy governor to ensure that the duties of the First Lady continue.
To maintain the position of First Lady and continue the work of my late wife, I propose that our daughter Helen continue as First Lady.
“She will work closely with the deputy governor and the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare,” the governor said. Eno expressed confidence in her daughter’s ability to handle her new role and carry on her mother’s legacy.
