Before claiming a child as his own, Nigerian musician Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, better known by his stage as Mayorkun, has stated that he will perform a DNA test.
The “Body Cheche” crooner revealed in a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast that he had previously informed his fiancee of his plan to sign a prenuptial agreement prior to their wedding and perform a DNA test whenever she gives birth.
Mayorkun stated that even if his girlfriend was upset, he would still proceed with the plan.
“Just to be sure, I informed my girlfriend that we would need to do a prenuptial agreement and a DNA test when she gave birth to me. She became agitated.
“I’ve considered taking the DNA test without informing her. No problems if it’s my child. “Everyone will hear about it if not,” he stated.
Due to the rising number of paternity fraud cases in Nigeria, some experts are pushing for DNA testing, which is becoming more and more common there.
Additionally, some celebrities have publicly urged Nigerian men to get their children’s paternity established through DNA testing before taking on parental responsibilities.
